Specialist Overview
Dr Raina is a senior medical oncologist with more than 40 years of experience and Chairman of Oncosciences at Fortis Healthcare. Before joining Fortis, he was Professor and Head of Medical Oncology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he spent 24 years.
He joined Fortis Memorial Research Institute in 2013 as Director and Head of Medical Oncology and Haematology, became Executive Director in 2017, and was appointed Chairperson of Oncosciences at Fortis Healthcare in January 2020. He treats all adult cancers, with a special interest in breast, lung, gastrointestinal, urological and gynaecological cancers, as well as lymphomas and myelomas, and has personally performed approximately 400 bone marrow and stem cell transplants.
Dr Raina brings extensive research experience, having been Principal Investigator on approximately 50 projects during his years at AIIMS, and is a cofounder of the INDOX network. Nearly 70 residents and DM students he mentored at AIIMS now hold leading positions in India and abroad.
